U-Can-2 Is CrawlinBC!

Richard Walker, aka U-Can-2, loves doing what seems to be impossible to others. The pucker factor of trying to climb a 90 degree wall while your front tires are bouncing all over and threatening to flip your ride on it’s roof is what drives this young Kamloops, BC resident. Walker thrives for the thrill of crawling over an obstacle that, in all common sense and reality, should not even be attempted. Although they drive a little slower, most rock crawlers and racers share one common link to other off road motorsports enthusiasts. They do things with their vehicles that just make the average observer shake their head in wonder while secretly admitting that they would love to try.

Richard Walker and his much better looking other half, Kelly, run the infamous CrawlinBC website. The site has quickly become the leading source for information about hard core rock crawling and racing in Western Canada. Walkers competition rig, nicknamed Steph, is a custom Pro Mod buggy with the best equipment available. It is powered by a 3.5 All Aluminum Shortstar crate motor with a 700R-4 Reverse Manual Valve Body transmission and Atlas II transfer case behind it. The Pro-Rock 60 Front & Rear differentials hold cryo’d 5.13’s gears, with an ARB lock in the rear. The front end houses a Detroit locker, 35 spline Chromoly axles CTM joints. These drive 37″ Maxxis Trepador tires and Inner Air Lock beadlocks. Steering is handled by PSC full hydraulic steering and cutting brakes. There is also on board air to control the air bag on the rear suspension and the ARB locker. PRP Seats and Crow 5 point seat belts keep the occupants safe. A front Warn 8000 winch and a rear Warn 2500 winch are there for when Richard gets into really ackward situations. A backup camera makes seeing objects behind the crawler a little easier.

These modifications have helped Rich win the top 3 rock crawling events in Western Canada in 2008. Opponents at the Island Cup, Abbotsford WeRock and Red Deer WeRock events all fell to U-Can-2 in 2008. For the 2009 season, the team hit a number of national calibre events in the USA and plan on doing the same in 2010. They would like to thank their sponsors: Baja North, Jeap Thrills Customs, Maxxis Tires, Inner Air Lock beadlocks, and of course, Crawlin BC.
